The Wonders of Singapore Waters.

The first thought that comes to mind when mentioning Scuba Diving in Singapore is "lousy visibility".

Indeed the visibility can be limited compared to other Asian diving destinations.

Despite that, Singapore waters house a wide range of small to medium reef fishes such as angelfish, parrotfish, sweetlips, anemone fish and damsel fish and macro life such as nudibranch, critters and crustaceans. There is also a good mix of hard and soft corals with a splash of beautiful anemones. Furthermore, with the comfortable average water temperatures range from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius, it is worth checking out the local dive sites and marine life.

The most common dive site is Pulau Hantu, a marine protected area. There are several different nudibranch species to spot, including the blue dragon nudibranch (Pteraeolidia Ianthina) and Spanish dancers. Hermit crabs and shrimps are also common residents if you have good eyes. Turtles can also be encountered if you are lucky. If lady luck is really shining bright, you can also see nurse sharks and sea horses.

So before you dismiss diving in Singapore waters, why not give it a shot and discover it yourself. You may fall in love with finding and discovering the macro organisms.
